The problem we chose to solve…

A Nation-wide initiative to help keep families free from harmful pesticides in parks and playing fields across the country.

While 69% of American parents are looking to lessen their children’s exposure to pesticides in food, nearly the same number (67%) do not consider exposure at sports fields, playgrounds, and parks to be of concern.

We’re working to bring attention to this issue, since more than 26 million kids play sports on the 670,000 fields across the country – and 65% of those fields are sprayed with harmful pesticides like glyphosate, 2,4-D and Dicamba, a source of concern for chemical exposure (that can lead to Parkinson’s disease, endocrine disruptor, thyroid disease and more).

Through StonyFIELDS, we will team up with communities nationwide to assist with their transitions to organic grounds management and bring organic model fields to millions of people. Through this program we’re working to inspire a movement, using these projects to help communities learn how to remove toxins from their playgrounds and parks and maintain them long-term.

We pulled out all the stops for StonyFields…

Each community we we assisted received location-based digital marketing and printed event flyers (some including custom photography shot on-site by yours truly), custom signage signifying their commitment to organic, and a fun-filled celebration for the whole community!

In Summary:

StonyFIELDs was a huge success!

Originally launched in 2018, the StonyFIELDS initiative contributed over $2 Million dollars and teamed up with 35 communities nationwide to assist with their transitions to organic grounds management by the beginning of 2020.

But we didn’t stop there! in August of 2020 we committed to helping an additional 14 new communities convert their outdoor fields and parks to organic grounds management.
